How to: Transcribe and Redact Audio Using AI

Overview

CaseGuard’s audio redaction tools make it easy to automatically detect and remove personally identifiable information (PII) from your audio and video recordings. Using the AI Audio tool, you can quickly and securely perform audio redaction on audio and video files that include sensitive details such as such as names, social security numbers (SSNs), phone numbers, addresses, and more.

The AI Audio tool automatically runs AI transcription on your audio or video file, converting speed from audio recordings to text. This approach eliminates the need to manually listen through the entire recording to find PII. With just a click, you can generate a transcript and choose which specific categories of PII to redact.

This workflow is especially useful for investigators and agencies working with body-worn camera footage or interviews in busy environments. CaseGuard can identify each speaker, detect spoken languages, and translate the audio in 100+ languages, making it easier to redact audio accurately and efficiently.

You can also redact audio from any video while you are in the video redaction process, allowing you to complete both video and audio redactions in one workflow.

Follow the steps to Redact and Transcribe Audio & Videos Automatically!

  • Add your audio file, or video file containing audio, to CaseGuard Studio.
  • Click the “AI Audio” tool from the left-hand toolbar.
