How to Export a Fast or Slow-Motion Version of Your Video in CaseGuard Studio

Overview

CaseGuard Studio makes it easy to adjust the playback speed of your video so you can create fast-motion or slow-motion effects for export. Whether you need to review footage in slow motion for accuracy or speed up lengthy recordings for presentation, the Change Speed tool gives you full control over timing while preserving audio and video quality.

Use Case Example

Suppose you’re redacting a long surveillance video and want to quickly review sections where no motion occurs. You can use Change Speed to double the playback speed for those parts, helping you complete your review faster. Conversely, you can slow down a key section to clearly show a specific event during an internal report or evidence submission.

Method 1: Using Audio Tools Panel

  1. Navigate to the video you want to adjust.

  2. At the bottom Audio Too, next to the audio waveform, click Effect  → Change Speed. Then select your desired speed from 1.00 to 10.00.

  3. Enter your desired speed (1.00–10.00) in the Speed field, or use the up/down arrows for precise control.

  4. Set the Start and End times for your speed change manually or by playing the video and clicking Start and End.

  5. Click Export to save your adjusted video.

Method 2: Highlight & Right-Click on Audio Waveform

  1. Highlight the portion of the audio waveform where you want the speed change.

  2. Right-click on the highlighted section and select Change Speed.

  3. After highlighting the segment and selecting Change Speed, adjust the speed using the panel on the side to set it to your desired value.

  4. Extend or reduce the highlighted (purple) segment to fine-tune the duration.

  5. Click Export to apply and save the changes.

Method 3: Play & Adjust in Real Time

  1. Play the video in CaseGuard Studio, making sure that Change Speed is selected as the effect and the correct speed is set.

  2. While the video is playing, press Start. You will see the audio waveform turn blue as the video plays. Press End only when the effect has been applied to the desired segment of the Video.

  3. Repeat for other segments as needed.

  4. Click Export to save your final video with all speed adjustments applied.

Tip: The purple segments on the audio wave represent areas where you’ve changed the speed.

Tip: Double-clicking a purple segment on the audio wave will remove the selected adjustment.

Tip: The exported file will reflect your chosen speed changes, resulting in a fast-motion or slow-motion version.
