How to: Take Snapshots from a Video in CaseGuard Studio

Overview

In CaseGuard Studio, the Take Snapshots from Video tool lets you instantly capture multiple images from your videos. These snapshots can be cropped, redacted, or edited directly within the platform, giving you a fast and efficient way to isolate key moments, highlight important details, and manage sensitive content, all without leaving your workspace.

Follow the Steps to take Snapshots in a video!

1. Add the Video to Your Project

Open CaseGuard Studio and add the video you want to capture snapshots from. You can drag the video into the project timeline or use the Import option.

2. Navigate to the Desired Frame

Use the player controls to find the exact frame you want to capture. You can:

  • Play the video normally, or use the left/right arrow buttons to move frame by frame.

3. Select the Take Snapshots Tool

In the video editing interface, click the snapshot icon (refer to the image below)  

The Snapshots icon is located next to the Crop tool for quick access. 

4. Capture the Snapshot

Hover your mouse over the  icon and click on it this will take a snapshot.

  • A thumbnail of your snapshot will appear in the Project Files pane as a new image.
  • You can take multiple snapshots by repeating this process on different frames.
  • Each thumbnail shows the frame number from which it was captured.

5. Use Your Snapshots

Once captured, snapshots can be cropped, redacted, or edited directly in CaseGuard Studio, just like any other project file.
