Follow these steps to easily set a password on a document in CaseGuard

  • Start by creating a new project in CaseGuard and adding the documents you want to redact and password-protect.
  • Next, use CaseGuard’s intuitive redaction tools to do your redactions. Make sure to review your work carefully so nothing confidential is missed.
  • Once your redactions are complete, go to the Export option in the top-right corner to begin the password-protection process.

  • Clicking the Export button will open the Export window. Within this window, you can customize how your document is exported, including applying password protection.

  • Inside the Export window, you’ll find the Password Protect option. Enter the password you want to assign here, this will be the password users must enter to access the exported document. (To ensure you are typing the correct password, click the eye icon next to the text box to make the password visible as you type.)

  • Once you have entered the desired password, click the Export button in the bottom-right corner of the window. CaseGuard will begin exporting your document. When the export process is complete, your document will be password-protected.
