The Cut Tool in CaseGuard Studio allows you to remove unwanted segments and keep only the part of the video you need.
In this KB, we’ll walk through the Cut Tool and the different methods available for selecting and cutting video segments, helping you reduce editing time and streamline your workflow.
What the Cut Tool Does
The Cut Tool removes user-defined segments from a video and keeps only the selected portion. All other footage outside the cut range is permanently removed from the project timeline.
Note: The Drop Segment tool has been removed. All segment removal is now handled through the Cut Tool.
How to Use the Cut Tool in CaseGuard Studio
Step 1: Add Media to Your Project
Step 2: Open Video Tools
Step 3: Define the Segment You Want to Keep
The Tool Properties Panel will appear at the bottom of the screen. You can define the segment to cut using any of the following methods:
Method 1: Manually Enter Start and End Times

Method 3: Press & Hold Selection

Exporting Your Video
Once you’ve reviewed the cut video:
Your exported file will contain only the retained segment of the original video.
