PDF Redaction through Text Highlight

Find & Redact allows you to highlight and redact text throughout your document.

With it, you can

  • Redact any text currently highlighted.
  • Apply redactions throughout a page or page range based on what text is highlighted.
  • Redact highlighted text throughout the entire document.
  • Optionally, set the color and redaction reason in the Tool Properties Panel after highlighting the text.

Get started

  • Right click inside the workspace viewer.
  • Click to open the Find & Redact function.

Redact Highlighted

  • Highlight the text you want to redact.
  • Right-click the highlighted text and select “Redact Highlighted”.
  • Now only the text that was highlighted will have a redaction box over it.

Redact in Page/Page Range

  • Highlight the text you want to redact.
  • Right-click the highlighted text and select either “Redact in Page” or “Redact in Page Range”.
  • If “Redact in Page” is selected, the system will search the page for the same text that is highlighted and create a redaction box around them.
  • If “Redact in Page Range” is selected, a pop-up will appear and ask you to type a page range (i.e. pages 2-5) and select apply. This will create redaction boxes around all text that matches the highlighted text ONLY on pages within your page range.

Redact in Document

  • Highlight the text you want to redact.
  • Right-click the highlighted text and select “Redact in Document”
  • Text throughout the entire document that matches the highlighted text will now have a redaction box over them.

Export

  • Once satisfied with where your redaction boxes are, click from the Task List Panel or the Export button from the Shortcuts Bar to process/export your redactions.
