Use Case
I need to redact a dark video in my CaseGuard but I can barely see the faces in the video. How do I increase the brightness in CaseGuard?
Follow these steps to increase the brightness of your video!
- First open your dark video in CaseGuard, once the video is open select Tools -> Template from the left toolbar.

- Once selected the Template window will open, from the window select Add Effects and select Auto Brightness, Then remove the adaptive-blur filter.

- Click Next, and if you would like the effect to apply to a selected range, click the selected range option.

- In the next window decide if you would like an audio redaction applied to the range selected for the auto-brightness, once selected click Apply.
- Now the auto brightness effect has been applied to your whole video, but before we begin redacting we will need to export. From the top right of CaseGuard select the
Export button.
- Please follow the steps in this article to export your video.
Once the export finishes your video’s brightness should be a lot brighter, apply your redactions like normal and export once you are satisfied.
Conclusion
Adjusting brightness before redacting can improve visibility and help ensure accurate redactions.
