How to: The Best Way to Differ Installation Type

In this article, we will walk you through the difference between the two installation options for CaseGuard Studio. Whether installing CaseGuard for just one user on the machine or a whole department, this guide will assist you every step of the way.

How to find the Installation Type

After installing the CaseGuard installer from our website and launching it, you will be prompted with a CaseGuard Studio Setup window. Select next to navigate the Installation type window.

From this window, you can decide to install CaseGuard for one user or all users on the machine. This decision should be made based on how many users will be using CaseGuard on the same machine. If more than one user will be using CaseGuard on the machine, we recommend using the Everybody (all users) installation option.

What is the difference between the two?

The primary difference between the two is the installation location of CaseGuard Studio. Depending on the option selected CaseGuard Studio will be installed to a different path.

Only for me (User)

If this option is selected, CaseGuard Studio will be installed under this path:
C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Programs\CaseGuard\

caseguard-peruser-install

This will allow only the user account that installed the application to access CaseGuard.

Everybody (All Users)

If this option is selected CaseGuard Studio will be installed under this path:

C:\Program Files (x86)\CaseGuard

caseguard-all-user-install

Please note: if installed via this path, you may need admin permissions/privileges.
