CaseGuard Studio is a locally-installed Windows software, similar to Microsoft Office or Adobe applications. CaseGuard Studio ensures that all your files remain local to your machine. No files are stored in the cloud, and no one can access them besides the end user.
The only instances where an internet connection is needed are for:
- License verification, where user credentials are hashed and encrypted with SSL using a 4096-bit key before authentication through CaseGuard’s server.
- Transcription or document analysis tasks, where CaseGuard utilizes AWS GovCloud region to run audio transcription and analysis services.
For these tasks, CaseGuard relies on four FedRAMP High-certified services hosted on AWS GovCloud, adhering to the highest security standards (FIPS 140-2 endpoints and AWS encryption modules).

The four endpoints we use from the AWS GovCloud region:
Please take a look at the following link to verify that all four services are FedRAMP High: https://aws.amazon.com/compliance/services-in-scope/FedRAMP/
All communication with these endpoints is encrypted, and transcribed data is wiped from AWS servers as soon as it’s transferred back to the user’s machine. The application will not connect to any of these endpoints if the user isn’t running transcription. CaseGuard remains fully offline unless actively performing transcription tasks.
Trusted by hundreds of organizations—ranging from local police departments and federal agencies to banks, law firms, airports, and schools in the United States and around the world—CaseGuard ensures both high-level security and local file storage.
