Using the Split Screen Feature in Redaction Studio

The Split Screen feature allows you to merge selected videos into a single video for export, editing, or redaction. This is particularly useful for combining security footage from multiple angles to comply with requests such as those under the Freedom of Information Act.

  1. Initiate Bulk Processing:
    • Click the Bulk Processing icon at the top of your screen, located between the Save and Redaction Pool icons.
    • From the Operation drop-down menu, select “Merge Media Split Screen.”
  2. Add Video Files:
    • Add your video files (minimum of two, maximum of sixteen).
    • Click “Next” to proceed to the template window.
  3. Select a Template:
    • Choose a template based on the number of video files you are merging.
    • Once selected, click “Next.”
  4. Arrange Videos in Split Screen:
    • In the Split Screen preview, each video is displayed with a file name and thumbnail.
    • Rearrange videos by clicking and dragging them within the template.
    • Toggle audio on/off for each video using the icon in the bottom right corner.
  5. Add Separate Audio (Optional):
    • If needed, add separate audio by clicking “Browse” and selecting your audio file.
    • Choose to loop the audio or play it once.
    • Set the audio start position based on frames or time position of the merged video.
    • Click “Skip” if you do not want to add separate audio.
  6. Finalize and Export:
    • Name your video and customize the export location.
    • Optionally, change the video resolution.
    • When ready, click “Export.”
  7. Redaction Options:
    • After exporting, redact the video using Manual Redaction, AI Automatic Redaction, or Audio Redaction.
    • Once redactions are complete, click “Export” again to obtain your fully redacted Split Screen video.
