Automatic Image Redaction in CaseGuard Studio
Hi everyone! Welcome to the CaseGuard Studio training course. In this video, we will cover automatic image redaction.
Setting Up Your Redaction Project
- Create a New Project: Start by creating a new redaction project and give it a descriptive name. There’s no need to add files from your machine yet, as there’s a faster option for image redaction within CaseGuard.
- Create an Album: At the top of your workspace, click the “create album” button to open the pop-up window. Use the green “add files” button to add all the images you want to redact to your album.
- Select Images: Choose images with faces and license plates to run automatic detection and apply redaction effects.
- File Count: Next to the green add files button, you’ll see the file count. In this example, we have 644 photos. Click save once you’ve selected your images.
The album will appear under the project files panel, and you’ll notice that the number of photos corresponds to the number of frames for this “video” in editing mode. Once exported, they will save as individual redacted images.
Automatic Image Redaction Process
- Open AI Detection: Click on the smiley face button on the left side of your workspace to open the AI automatic detection pop-up window.
- Select Objects for Detection: Choose faces and license plates for detection.
- Choose Shape and Effect: Select the shape, effect, and effect level you want to apply to the detected objects.
- Advanced Settings: In the advanced settings panel, you can schedule your redaction for later if desired.
- Start Detection: Once you’ve configured your settings, click detect.
A status bar at the bottom of your workspace will show progress. In just seconds, CaseGuard Studio automatically detects and redacts 644 images—saving you hours or even days of manual work.
Exporting and Reviewing Redacted Images
- Export Album: Click on the green export button at the top of your workspace to export your redacted album.
- Locate Redacted Images: Use “open project folder” under your project files panel to find your images on your machine. You’ll see two folders titled “album.” Click on the redacted folder to view all saved redacted images.
Double-click an image to open it on your machine and verify that it is redacted.
Making Edits
You can always make edits on your original images in CaseGuard Studio by clicking on the original album. Move, resize, or draw another redaction box as needed. When finished, click on the green export button to export new redacted images. That’s all for this video! In upcoming videos, we’ll cover CaseGuard Studio’s more advanced redaction and enhancement features. See you there!
