Video Editing Tools in CaseGuard Studio

Overview of Editing Capabilities

You can use the editing tools in CaseGuard Studio to refine your video by dropping segments, cutting unnecessary parts, merging multiple videos, changing playback speed, or taking snapshots.

Getting Started

  1. Add a Video File:
    • Begin by adding a video file to your project.
  2. Keyboard Shortcuts for Video Player:
    • Play/Pause: Spacebar
    • Forward One Frame: Right arrow key
    • Backward One Frame: Left arrow key
    • Forward 10 Frames: Open bracket key ( ] )
    • Backward 10 Frames: Close bracket key ( [ )
    • Forward One Second: Up arrow key
    • Backward One Second: Down arrow key
    • Speed Up by 5%: Shift + Q
    • Slow Down by 5%: Shift + S

Using Editing Tools

  • Cut Media Tool:
    • Keeps the selected portion and removes the rest.
    • Methods to Apply a Cut:
      • Enter exact start and end times if known.
      • Use the capture start/end time icons while playing the video.
      • Press & hold icon while playing to capture times.
      • Keyboard shortcuts: Shift + Z (start time), Shift + X (end time).
      • Highlight the audio wave directly with your mouse.
    • Click “Cut Segment” and export to create a new file with just the selected portion.
  • Drop Segment Tool:
    • Deletes multiple segments and stitches remaining parts together for a seamless video.
    • Use the same methods as the Cut Media tool to select segments.
    • Click “Drop Segment” and export once all segments are selected.
  • Merge Files Tool:
    • Merges two or more files from your project into one video.
    • Add and edit text frames between videos if needed.
    • Click “Add to tasks” to add it to the tasks list for exporting.
  • Change Speed Tool:
    • Adjusts the speed of the entire video or a selected section.
    • Use capture options to select the portion and click “Change Speed.” Export to apply changes.
  • Snapshot Tool:
    • Takes a picture of the video while it’s playing or paused, exporting only that frame.
