View Modes and Export Features in CaseGuard Studio

Adding and Redacting a File

  • Begin by adding a file to CaseGuard Studio.
  • Make some redactions to the file to explore the features.

View Modes

CaseGuard Studio offers four view modes to suit your editing or reviewing needs:

  1. Edit Mode:
    • Default mode, showing redaction boxes with gridded lines.
  2. Edit Mode (View):
    • Removes gridded lines, keeping only the border around words for better visibility of redactions.
  3. Preview Mode:
    • Displays what the exported version will look like.
  4. Show Original:
    • Shows the original document without any redactions.

Exporting Files

  • Return to Edit Mode to export your file.
  • In the export popup window, under “Additional Export Options,” you have two choices:
  1. Redaction Export Mode:
    • Default option that exports the file with final redactions applied.
  2. Export in Review Mode:
    • Exports a marked copy of your file with highlighted redaction boxes for further review. Useful for getting approval before final export.
  • You can also add a password to your file in the same export window.

Post-Export Actions

  • After exporting, use the “Open Project Folder” icon under the “Project Files” panel to view the exported file with other software like Adobe.
  • If a password was added, you will be prompted to enter it upon opening the document.
  • Hover over redaction boxes with reasons to see pop-up explanations.
