Using the Crop Video and Extract Audio Features in CaseGuard Studio
Cropping Video:
The crop video feature is ideal for focusing on specific scenes in far-away footage, such as CCTV, or isolating incidents in busy videos where redacting every individual would be time-consuming.
- Add a File:
- Begin by adding a file to CaseGuard Studio.
- Select the Crop Tool:
- Click the “Crop” icon from the Toolbar on the left side of your Workspace.
- Define the Crop Area:
- Select and adjust the area directly on the video to the desired size.
- Alternatively, enter specific dimensions for height, width, x, and y coordinates.
- Apply and Export:
- Once you’ve set the desired crop area, click “Crop” and then “Export.”
- A new cropped version of the file will be exported, ready for redactions.
Extracting Audio:
The “Extract Audio from Video” feature is useful for isolating audio for editing or overlaying it onto another video.
- Select the Extract Audio Tool:
- Click the “Extract Audio from Video” icon from the Toolbar on the left side of your Workspace.
- Confirm Extraction:
- A pop-up will appear to confirm your selection.
- Note that extracting audio will not mute the video’s audio; it will create a separate audio file.
- Export Audio:
- Click confirm to add the task to the tasks list.
- Click “Export” to begin the audio extraction process, which will automatically create a new file in the Project Files Panel.
Post-Processing:
- You can now apply redactions to this new audio file, burn captions onto it, transcribe, and translate it without involving the original video file.
