Mastering Manual Redaction in Redaction Studio

Manual redaction offers the highest level of control over your redaction process. If you can draw a box over an area, you can redact it. Here’s how to effectively use manual redaction:

  1. Choose a Redaction Shape:
    • Options include rectangle, triangle, ellipse, or diamond.
  2. Select a Redaction Effect:
    • Available effects are adaptive blur, blur, pixelate, and filled.
  3. Apply Redaction Effects:
    • Depending on your needs, apply a standard effect, reverse effect, or full-frame redaction effect.
  4. Manual Redaction Methods:
    • First Method:
      • Draw a redaction box and click and hold it while following the person or object to be redacted.
      • Use the left and right arrow keys to move frame by frame and adjust the redaction box placement for precision.
    • Second Method:
      • Draw a redaction box, right-click, and select the search feature.
      • This method is less time-consuming and streamlines the redaction process.
  5. Viewing Modes During Redaction:
    • Edit Mode: The redaction effect is applied and outlined with a red line.
    • Edit Mode View: Allows you to see what is behind the redaction for greater accuracy.
    • Preview Mode: Shows the redaction effect without an outline, letting you see the final product as it will appear upon export.
