PDF Redaction Using Find & Redact List in CaseGuard Studio

In this video, we will demonstrate how to use the Find & Redact list search feature in CaseGuard Studio for PDF redaction. This feature allows users to efficiently redact specific information from document files.

  1. Building a Redaction List:
    • CaseGuard Studio enables you to create a list of information to redact, such as specific names or patterns like phone numbers, emails, and SSNs.
    • This list can be reused across multiple documents.
  2. Setting Up the Analytics Panel:
    • Pin the Analytics Panel.
    • At the bottom, select the “Find and Redact Lists” icon and click “Add New List.”
    • Enter a List Name.
  3. Adding Entries:
    • You can manually “Add Entries” or import them using a .txt or .csv file.
    • Select “Add Entries” and click “Next.”
    • Enter exact words to redact under “Exact Word Match,” with options for case sensitivity and whole words only.
    • Choose a redaction reason and color for your word match.
  4. Pattern Matching:
    • Select patterns from the dropdown menu, such as email addresses, phone numbers, URLs, credit card numbers, etc.
    • To add custom patterns, click the plus sign next to the dropdown menu and select “Add New.”
  5. Analyzing and Redacting:
    • Click “Analyze” for the software to process the document.
    • With one click, redact all Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and export your file.
  6. Bulk Processing:
    • This process can also be applied in bulk to hundreds or thousands of files.
    • Click the Bulk Processing icon and select “Redact Document” from the Operations dropdown.
    • Add files.
    • Click “Redact Document Settings” to perform “Find & Redact” using your created list.
    • Select “Apply” and click “Start.”
