Streamlining Image Redaction with the Watcher Feature in Redaction Studio

The Watcher feature in Redaction Studio allows you to automate and streamline your image redaction process. Follow these steps to set it up:

  1. Access the Watcher Panel:
    • Hover over the Watcher tab on the right side of the Workspace and pin it for easy access.
  2. Set Up a Watcher:
    • Click the “Add Folder to Watch” icon at the bottom of the Watcher Panel.
    • Name your Watcher and use the “Browse” buttons to select an input folder (for images to be redacted) and an output folder (for redacted copies).
  3. Manual Review Option:
    • If you want to manually review redactions, click the “Keep History Files for Manual Review” button.
  4. Select Redaction Operation:
    • Choose “Redact Video/Image” from the “Operation” drop-down menu and click “Add.”
  5. Configure AI Detection:
    • In the AI Automatic Detection pop-up, select what you want the software to detect and redact.
    • Optionally, load an existing AI Automatic Detection template from the “Load Template” drop-down menu.
  6. Redaction Settings:
    • Click “Next.”
    • Choose the shape of the redaction box and select which redaction or enhancement effect to use.
    • Repeat this process for each type of object you want to detect and redact.
  7. Save as Template:
    • If desired, save your current selections as a template by checking the “Save as Template” checkbox and naming it.
  8. Finalize Setup:
    • Click “Apply” and then “Save.” The Watcher will now appear in the Watcher Panel.
  9. Monitor Redaction Process:
    • Use the “Open Input Folder” and “Open Output Folder” icons to watch redaction in real-time.
    • Add images to the input folder; CaseGuard will detect them and begin redaction.
    • Original files are moved to a Processed folder after redaction.
    • Redacted copies appear in the output folder, maintaining original file structure if folders are used.
